People do seem to want to hurt each other when they are in a group. For example, everyone's energy gets riled up and they don't want to make fools of themselves in front of others. In addition, they don't want to look dumb in front of their friends and want to impress each other. Also, they want to have the power and be the dominant one because it is easier to pick on one person as a group than it is for one person to hurt a group. People socialize by associating themselves in large groups to feel more dominant and in charge.
